I present a triptych of studio still life, “Red on Red,” “Green on Green,” and “Black on Black” in which fruits, vegetables, and lustrous fabrics unite to explore color as form and emotion. In each image, I have draped reflective cloth beneath and around my ingredients, allowing the folds to catch and shape light into highlights and shadows that trace the contours. The monochrome palette dissolves distraction, focusing attention on texture, line, and sculptural interplay.

“Red on Red” pulses with intensity : apple, raspberry, and tomato emerge from a sea of silk, their curves amplified by light. “Green on Green” breathes serenity as pepper, lemon, and lettuce rest on satin, the soft draping fabric echoing the natural forms of foliage. In “Black on Black,” chocolate muffin, biscuit, and coffee beans settle into silk, where its deep black absorbs light and the slightest sheen carves out the subjects in relief.

These images transform simple still life ingredients into dynamic studies of tension and harmony. The fabrics do more than support, they become active sculptors, guiding light to reveal hidden narratives in everyday objects. Through this series, I invite viewers to experience color not just as hue but as a tactile, emotional landscape shaped by light and form.
